HAPPY BIRTHDAY PLAYING CARD

A small envelope containing a prediction card is first displayed. A deck of cards is shown back and front, shuffled, and then squared up. As the performer grips the deck in his left hand, he asks a spectator to name a number between 1 and 52 (number of cards in a deck.) He mentions that everyone has a birthday and sometimes we receive special birthday cards. Let’s say the spectator freely selects number 16. The performer deals cards one at a time from the top of the deck – and when he comes to the 16th card, he stops. This card, he says is the spectator’s lucky birthday card. When it is reversed – right across the face of it is the message Happy Birthday in golden foil script! The remainder of the deck is shown – the card at number 16 (or any chosen number given) is the only one which has the birthday greeting on it. When the small envelope is opened and the golden card removed, on it is the actual name of the chosen card. Use your own blue backed Bicycle deck.
